Redoing a Flower Arrangement

I recently found this floral arrangement at a second hand store.  I had been looking for something to put on our dining room table and I thought with some adjustments this might work.  As it was I thought it looked a bit cheap with the bow and gold rimmed rose. At the same time parts of it looked nice.  Buying quality fake flowers can be expensive so I generally always find them at thrift shops and make my own arrangements.

When I removed the bow I realized it had been glued there to cover up a broken section on the pot.

After mixing some acrylic paint together I painted the broken section. I didn't have exact colours in my supplies, but I thought it turned out close enough.

For the arrangement, I first remove three or four of the flowers that I didn't care for, and then I added in a few berries I had on hand. This is how it turned out. :)

I'm happy with it, and it matches great in the dining room. :)

That's neat what a major difference your adjustments made! It's funny, when I seen the first picture before the other ones had loaded, I was pretty skeptical of your choice. :D Those pink flowers and the bow really threw off the whole arrangement, and it looks very nice now that you removed those!

That's so funny about your thoughts when you only seen the first picture. :) I found this at Etcetera Shop actually. I was in the checkout line when I seen it. I picked it up once and put it back because I thought bow etc. was kind of ugly. Lol After thinking about it more, while standing in the slow moving line, I decided it had potential and went back and grabbed it. :) I'm very happy with it now, it matches the hutch you painted perfectly. :)"

You did a great job! I like how you fixed the damaged part of the pot. I would have never thought of that. :)
