~My Mountain Dulcimer~

I was excited to order and receive my new mountain dulcimer about a month ago. I've been playing it when ever I get a chance, and have been really enjoying it! :)

This book by Karin Lyle, has been a great help in learning how to play. The red pick is nice as well, all three sides are a different thickness making it easy to switch up.

I love the redgum wood top and hummingbird sound holes! :) I've also been pleased with the quality and sound of it. Looking forward to learning and playing more when I can! :)

Your dulcimer is very pretty! That would be fun to get to maybe play it sometime. :) I'm glad you were able to get those internet wires back together! :)

I am looking forward to when you can come back for another visit (LW)! :) I think it will be very fun to play together! Maybe by that time we will be able to get a real piano too. :)

That is so awesome! I recently decided to play the dulcimer also! I haven't ordered mine yet, so I'm especially curious where you bought your from.

Hi Grace,
I think you will really like playing! :) It's really been lots of fun for me, especially since it is easy play by ear! I bought mine from Craggy Mountain Music. Here is their website:

I really like all the selections they have, and I've been really happy with my dulcimer from them! :)

Hello from Alberta! I just stumbled upon your blog by accident, but have really enjoyed reading it over.
Your dulcimer is very lovely. My 13 year old daughter has been trying to teach herself to play as well.
God bless,
Crystal

Lovely! My Uncle let me use an old one and
for years I kept it as a decoration in my bedroom. It was fun to pick out simple tunes. Now I am trying to remember if I gave it back before I got married or if it's still back home! :)
