Happy Way to Start My Day

The Bible, French vanilla coffee, and a pancake, sausage, egg, maple breakfast sandwich my husband found at the store for me because he knows how much I like them. <3

"I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing. I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me." Psalm 101:1-3

Little Ones

Precious, no doubt, are these little ones in your eyes;
but if you love them, think often of their souls.
No, interest should weigh with you so much as their eternal interests.  No part of them should be so dear to you as that part which will never die. -Selected

Two Tips to Help Speed Work in the Kitchen

#1 To chop an apple very quickly, first turn the apple stem side down. With a large knife make four cuts around the core as shown. You will end up with six apple slices and the core.

#2 When you have a lot of small children like we do this tip comes in handy! To quickly cut up waffles, pancakes or French toast use your pizza cutter! It's very fast and easy!

These are just two kitchen tips I've used recently that have helped me out. :)

Hot Soup on a Winter Night

On a freezing cold winter night, a bowl of hot chicken noodle soup, along with some buttered bread is  perfect! :)

I didn't use a recipe this time, but that's the beauty of soups you can use what you have on hand. :) Tonight I decided to first sautĂ© and onion then add in the chicken along with a few of my favourite herbs: rosemary, oregano, and basil and also some garlic powder.  Then I added in some cubes of mozzarella, chicken broth and bow tie pasta.

Sprinkled with a little Parmesan it was yummy. :) At least the children's response told me so, they were asking for seconds and Luke (almost two) had three bowls! Lol :)

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

So thankful for my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen."

Praise the Name of the Lord

“Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children: Let them praise the name of the LORD: for His name alone is excellent; His glory is above the earth and heaven.”

Psalm 148:12-13

A Favorite Hymn: When I Survey the Wonderous Cross

  1. While flipping through our hymn book today I came to this song. It had been awhile since I last sang or played it, and it was good to come across it again.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  John 3:16

  2. When I survey the wondrous cross
  3. On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.
  4. Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.
  5. See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down!
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?
  6. Were the whole realm of nature mine,
    That were a present far too small;
    Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.

Random Favourite Photo #7: Little Farm Boy

This is one of my favorite pictures of Luke. He was watching his Daddy unload trucks by the grain dryer.  It was one of the last beautiful fall days of the year.  A few minutes after I took this, Graham walked over to see us and Luke was one happy little boy, he loves his Dad. :)

God's Word Shall Stand!

"The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever."  Isaiah 40:8

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." John 1:1-3
2 Timothy 3:16 - All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Matthew 24:35 - Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Colossians 3:16 - Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Proverbs 30:5 - Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Thankful for God's Mercy, Compassions, and Faithfulness!

"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness." Lam. 3:25
