The First Day of Spring

Happy Spring! While it's still cold and snowy where we live, I'm looking forward to all the coming delights warmer weather brings!  Such as...

Planting Flower Seeds

When it looks like this outside, I needed to do something to remind myself spring will actually come to Canada. :) 

So we went to the store and bought dirt, pots and flower seeds! The children and I planted marigolds, asters and zinnias. 

On Thursday we saw that some of the seeds have already sprouted! It's been good to see things growing when it's freezing cold out. :) 

Lunch in the Basement

A few days ago I decided to buy a few treats and have a picnic lunch in the basement with the children.  We had fun, and it helped break the monotony a bit from being in the house to much this winter. :)  It warmed up to above freezing today, which was nice, looking forward to springtime! :)
