Trim Healthy Mama Snack

I was so hungry this afternoon that I decided to do a little baking! If you have never visited Briana Thomas' website, you need to! :) She has so many yummy Trim Healthy Mama recipes it's hard to decide which one to make.  I'm really excited that she is planning on publishing a cookbook soon as well!   Today I made her chocolate chip cookie recipe.  They turned out better than I was expecting!  For my drink I make the "Singing Canary"from page 398 in the THM cookbook.  It tasted amazing!  I was looking for a good way to take my protein powder and this is the answer!   If you don't have everything on hand you can still make it, it's versatile. Next time I might use equal parts lemon and lime juice.  Here is how I made mine:

4 T. Lemon juice
3 doonks Pure Stevia Extract
1 scoop unflavoured protein powder
1 scoop Intergral Collagen
1 1/2 t. vanilla
1 1/2c. water
Ice

Mix everything but the water and ice in the bottom of a quart jar. Fill with ice to the top and then dump the water in. Stir and enjoy! :)

Note: Be sure to check out the original recipe as I left out a few ingredients I didn't have, and also changed amounts with the protein powder and Intergral Collagen.

I was wondering if you were still following this THM diet or way of living and how it was working for you. From the photo on your last entry with the baby, you are looking really good. I have read the book and wanted to try it but felt a bit overwhelmed with it and never went ahead with it. Just wondered how it's working out for you and having a family with growing children if you are all on it or just you. The drink and cookies look good :)

Thank you for the kind words! :) My husband and I have been following the THM plan for almost two months now (after I had baby boy number six). This will be our third go of it. :) I've had two babies since the first time we tried it and I never did stay on plan while I was expecting due to exhaustion, and plain old lack of motivation. This time, I am trying to loose all the extra baby weight and my husband has some weight to loose as well so we decided to do it together once again. It's going great so far! I've lost 18lbs since starting, and Graham is down almost 30lbs.

I might try posting some suggestions on how we've got started and a few tips etc. Although I'm not sure I'm the best person to take advice from seeing I've been a quitter a few times. :) I totally understand how it can feel overwhelming when first starting up, it does take extra time and effort, but once you get the hang of it it's not too difficult. :)
