One of my personal favorite soups is clam chowder, I recently found this recipe which was a little different then ones that I have tried before. It turned out really well, so I thought I would share the recipe. Hope you all enjoy! :)
New England Style Clam Chowder
2 6.5 oz. cans chopped clams
6 slices bacon, minced
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
3 tablespoons flour
5 med potatoes, peeled and diced
4 1/2 cups milk
4 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 tsp. oregano
1 1/2 tsp. dill
1 1/2 tsp. parsley
salt and pepper to taste
Boil potatoes until tender. Cook bacon and onion until done, drain most of the grease. Add the butter, clams, oregano, dill and parsley, flour and milk to the drained potatoes, then add the bacon and onion mixture as well. Heat through. Serve hot with oyster crackers.
